KAMIEŃ-STONE 2011 came as a success
310 exhibitors, 6,268 visitors, a few dozen of sold machines and concluded contracts: this is the result of KAMIEŃ-STONE 2011 Stone Industry Fair.
On 9-12 November 2011, a comprehensive offer from representatives of the stone industry from 17 countries was presented at the Poznań fairgrounds. Foreign companies have embraced the opportunity of presenting their offer at the largest exhibition event for the stone industry in Central and Eastern Europe, as they made up 59% of the total number of exhibitors.
What was showcased in Poznań was a wide range of natural stone varieties, semi-finished and finished stone products, tombstones, machines, devices and tools for stone processing as well as stone chemicals. Leaders in the segment of tomb accessories were also represented.
310 companies present at the fair showcased their offers in a complex of Hall 5, 6 and 6A with a total area of 20,000 sq m.

For the very first time, Klaudiusz Award competition, organised for KAMIEŃ-STONE exhibitors by Geoservice-Christi and Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie, was launched.

The best stone projects have been awarded at the fair, too. Winners of the KAMIEŃ (STONE) 2011 competition organised by the Świat Kamienia monthly were presented with Caryatid statuettes.
We have also learned the winner of the second edition of the DESIGNING IN STONE competition for students of design and architecture departments. The competition was organised by the Nowy Kamieniarz monthly.
The Bazalt Foundation presented awards in the competition for a design concept for land management at Bazalt old quarry in Strzegom.
Over the first three fair days, we had an exciting competition of more than ten stonemasons in sandblasting a tombstone, as they competed for the title of a MASTER OF SANDBLASTING. The competition was organised by Świat Kamienia.
